Postnatal Pilates/Yoga For Mum & Baby

Picture
Spending quality time with your baby is your utmost priority right now which is why classes are designed to include babies at this precious time.  Connect with other mums and babies while regaining strength and fitness in an enjoyable way.  Postnatal classes are more Pilates based and tailored to your current needs and goals.

Changes in the body happen over the duration of pregnancy, but, sometimes new mums can feel under pressure to get back into shape soon after birth.  General exercise, especially high impact, or dieting are not conducive at this time. however, realigning the skeletal structure and bringing the muscles back to their former or increased strength can be very helpful in safely and appropriately achieving a faster recovery and avoiding future complications. We can address complications such as Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD), Diastases Symphysis Pubis (DSP), back pain, shoulder tightness/pain etc.
For Mum's from 6 weeks postpartum (8-10 weeks after cesarean)

Courses are currently via zoom Wednesday's 11am - 12.15am

This course is delivered on set days therefore any non attended sessions cannot unfortunately be reimbursed
During my recent BSc (Hons) in Sports & Exercise Science I conducted my research dissertation on the efficacy of exercise in improving the symptoms of pregnancy related pelvic pain, which is not uncommon in pregnancy.  The exercise intervention was found to be very effective in reducing symptoms,  creating pelvic stability and building a strong core post-birth with or without SPD symptoms.  The exercises used are extremely beneficial postpartum or at any stage of life where you feel the need to strengthen core and postural muscles.
